Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Jayant Chaudhary said on Friday that the industry needs to pay more salaries to attract people with certified skills.
Chaudhary said, “When I hear the prominent industrialists saying that they are not getting skilled people, I feel very sad … because in a way we are part of both the problem and solution. The industry has to understand that you have to give high pay scale to certified skilled people. You have to give importance to that skill and education. ”
Addressing the skill summit organized by Udyog Mandal FICCI, the minister said that although everyone understands that there is a shortage of skilled people “We need to invest more.”
Chaudhary said, “Unless people with certified skills do not see immediate improvement in their livelihood, whether it is in terms of salary or entrepreneurship, we are not giving proper importance to their skills.
