The Border Security Force (BSF) has raised its vigil on the 1,885 km-long India-Bangladesh border in the Northeast since the unrest began in Bangladesh last year.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said that security forces on Friday drove out 10 illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators from Sri Bhumi district of Assam in the neighboring country. The Chief Minister posted on ‘X’, “Strict action is going on against illegal infiltration! In the early hours today, the Assam Police drove out 10 illegal Bangladeshi intruders from Sri Bhumi sector. ”
Sharma said, “Efforts to change the demographics of Assam will not be tolerated. The borders are safe, the intruders were chased out! ”The Assam Police had launched 27 illegal intruders from Sri Bhumi last week. In recent months, more than 387 alleged illegal intruders have been sent back and sent back.
