The ban on 25 books in Jammu and Kashmir is a pity and is an attempt to warn Kashmiris against freedom of expression. Writers and scholars on Thursday reacted by the Union Territory Home Department to seize these publications for promoting false narratives and separatism. In the order issued, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir said that some books including books written by famous writers like Maulana Maudadi, Arundhati Roy, AG Noorani, Victoria Scofield, Sumantra Bose and David Devdas have played a key role in “misleading youth, glorifying and inciting terrorism”.

Reacting to the order, political scientist and writer Bose said that his main objective is to identify the paths of peace and he rejected any kind of derogatory words in his work. My main objective throughout this tenure has been to identify the paths of peace, so that all types of violence can be eliminated and the people of the struggling area, the overall India and the subcontinent can enjoy a stable future free from fear and war.
