A member of Tillu Tajpuria gang arrested after an encounter in Delhi

Delhi Police arrested a member of the Tillu Tajpuria gang after a brief encounter at Sarojini Nagar here. An official gave this information on Thursday.

According to the police, Tillu Tajpuria gang member Manjit alias Dada is wanted in a murder case registered in Alipur. On Monday, he was arrested in connection with the murder of Karan Thapa, a rival Gogi gang.

Thapa was shot dead in Alipur on March 28, 2025. Based on the information about Manjeet’s activities, the police laid a trap in Sarojini Nagar. A senior police officer said, “When the police team stopped Manjeet, he tried to escape and fired bullets. In retaliation, the police also fired a few rounds, after which he was caught.

He said that no one was injured on both sides in this encounter. According to the police, at least six cases have already been registered against Manjit with criminal background, including attempt to murder, forcible recovery and violation of the Arms Act.

Police said he was escaping from arrests since the Alipur murder case. According to the police, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Code of Justice of India and Arms Act and investigation is going on.
