Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Wednesday that an inquiry should be ordered to investigate the claims of AAP on the existence of the hanging house in the Delhi Assembly premises and one money spent on its renovation should be recovered.
Legislative Speaker Vijendra Gupta has said that the room which was renovated in 2022 and inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was actually a “tiffin room”, not the hanging site of the colonial period.
During the discussion on the matter in the assembly, Rekha Gupta said that one crore rupees have been spent on the decoration of the so -called ‘hanging house’ and this amount should be recovered.
He said, “The matter should be investigated. The hanging house is a lie spread by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. There will be an All India Presiding Officers Conference in Delhi and these lies should be overcome before they arrive. ”
Taking a sarcasm at Kejriwal, the Chief Minister said that the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has many degrees in drama and psychology. “He claimed that the former Chief Minister (Kejriwal) is” expert “in playing with the feelings of the people.
The Speaker said that the two ‘tiffin rooms’ with a really pulled lift were part of the building that served as the ‘Imperial Legislative Council’ during the British rule. Vijendra Gupta said that the map of the building providing details of every room including ‘Tiffin Room’ is kept in the national archives.
