The two countries announced their strategic partnership after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Modi and Philippine President Ferdinand Rogos Junior here. Modi said that it is a matter of happiness that today we have decided to increase our relationship to the level of strategic partnership. A comprehensive action plan has also been prepared to convert the possibilities of this partnership into results.

Welcoming President Marcos Junior, Union Minister JP Nadda highlighted the importance of the journey on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India-Failipines diplomatic relations. He proposed the exchange of delegations between the Federal Party of Philippines (PFP) and the BJP to strengthen mutual relations. He also mentioned major initiatives in the fields of healthcare, social welfare and foreign policy under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

He said that sea lines of communication cross the Indian Ocean. Marine trade for the Far East and Pacific Ocean through the Indian Ocean has been the basis of our prosperity and the aspirations of our people for centuries. Marcos said the Philippines-India strategic partnership will continue to cooperate with shared concerns.
