On Monday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed condolences on the death of Shibu Soren, the founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), saying that the JMM leader struggled for a separate Jharkhand state and the people there for the conservation of water, forest, land and tribal culture.
Kharge talked to Soren’s son and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the phone and tied him up. Shibu Soren died on Monday. He was 81 years old. Kharge posted on ‘X’, “I am saddened by the death of former Jharkhand Chief Minister, former Union Minister and founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Shibu Soren.He struggled for a lifetime for the conservation of water, forest, land rights and tribal culture of separate Jharkhand state and people there.
He said, “I spoke to his son and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren ji and expressed my deep condolences to his family and supporters. In this hour of sorrow, God should support him. ”
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted ‘X’ and said that Guruji Shibu Soren was not only MP and three times the Chief Minister, but he was in a decisive role in the movement for the creation of Jharkhand exactly 25 years ago.
He said, “He was truly a great man whose passion for social and economic justice was inspiring. He made a huge contribution to the construction of the Forest Rights Act, 2006 and the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
