Tension after objectionable posts in Pune’s Daund, a large number of police forces deployed, CM Fadnavis also got a statement

Tensions have increased after an objectionable post by a young man on social media in Yawat area of Daund Tehsil of Pune. Several vehicles have been set on fire on the roads. A crowd of youth has pelted stones at a structure. In view of the increasing tension, the weekly market in Yavat has been closed. Police say that an incident took place in the village a week ago, so there was already a stressful situation here. The villagers took to the streets and some youths tried to vandalize a structure.

A large number of police forces have been deployed in Yawat village of Daund taluka in Pune district. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also received a statement on the entire matter. He said that I have just received information about the case. According to this, an outsider posted objectionable status, causing stress. People came out on the streets and had to lathicharge to control the crowd. The situation is now under control. People of both communities are sitting together and trying to reduce stress.

Fadnavis said that some people post such status to deliberately create stress, but strict action will be taken against them. Is it just because a meeting or program was organized, no one gets the freedom to post such inflammatory status? No one has the right to make objectionable remarks against any religion in this way. Therefore, it is completely wrong to say that stress caused stress due to a public meeting.

The Chief Minister said that at present, the area is completely peaceful. We also have to verify whether the video clip is from the same place or elsewhere. In many such cases, tampered videos also appear. Therefore, that aspect should also be investigated. We have only one appeal: maintain all peace and do not take any law in our hands. If someone does this, the police will take strict action against him.
