The deceased has been identified as Harmanpreet Singh, a resident of Bhagatpur. He was going from Kapurthala to Navodaya School with his school teacher and friends. A dog suddenly came in front of the auto near the village Thehwala. The driver tried to escape the dog, causing the auto balance to deteriorate and overturned.
The injured were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital Kapurthala. Dr. Jashan, who was on duty there, declared Harmanpreet Singh dead. Treatment of the injured student continues. Investigating officer ASI Baldev Singh said that action has been taken under Section 174 based on the statement of Balwinder Kaur, mother of the deceased. After the post -mortem, the body has been handed over to the relatives.
