Six devotees died and about three dozen people were injured when a stampede was caused by a stampede at Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. A police officer gave this information.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Haridwar Pramendra Dobal said that six people died due to stampede in the temple road. He said that more than 35 injured have been admitted to the hospital, some of whom have been referred to higher health centers.
According to Dobal, initial information has revealed that the rumor of the current spread stampede. Officials said that the incident took place at around 9.30 am on the ladder route of Mansa Devi temple.
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the incident. Sharing a ‘post’ on a social media platform, the Chief Minister said that a very sad news of a stampede has been received in Mansa Devi Mandir Marg.
He said that the State Disaster Provisional Team (SDRF), local police and other rescue teams are doing relief and rescue work by reaching the spot. The Chief Minister said, “I am in constant touch with the local administration and the situation is constantly being monitored. I pray to Mata Rani for all the devotees to be safe.
