All India Anna Dravida Munnetra (AIADMK) General Secretary E Ki Palaniswami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport here on Saturday night. The party gave this information.
Palaniswami welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport on Saturday night and talked to him for a few minutes. This was Palaniswami’s first meeting with the Prime Minister after an election alliance between AIADMK and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in April this year.
This meeting is also important in view of the AIADMK claim that it will get a majority in the 2026 assembly elections and will form the government on its own, while the BJP is adamant on its stand that if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) wins the election, it will be part of the government.
Tamil Manila Congress (Mupanar) top leader of the top leader was also present at the airport to receive the Prime Minister. During a special conversation with a television channel, Palaniswami, a supporter of AIADMK, described Prime Minister Modi’s brief conversation with him as brilliant. Prime Minister Modi arrived here from Tuticorin on Saturday night after inaugurating projects worth about Rs 4,900 crore.
