Who will be the new president of UP BJP in place of Bhupendra Chaudhary? Speculation on these 6 names intensified

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sent a list of six names to the national leadership, which is ready to select the next head of the state unit. These include two Brahmins, two from backward communities and two from Dalit communities. These are all men. A senior party leader gave this information. Elections are scheduled to be held in the most populous state of India in early 2027 and the election of the state unit chief is considered to be one of the major decisions before the BJP, which will try to reverse its Lok Sabha shock in the state and to secure the third consecutive term in Lucknow.

The BJP, which has selected state heads in more than 25 out of 37 organizational units, is also preparing for its next national president. The BJP leader said that the new state head will replace Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Jat leader of Western Uttar Pradesh. The suggested names include former Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma and former Basti MP Harish Dwivedi (both Brahmins), current Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dharampal Singh and current Union Minister of State BL Verma (both OBC), and former Union Minister Ram Shankar Katheria and current MLC Vidya Sagar Sonkar (both Dalits).
At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to announce a unanimous candidate for the post of new national president of the party after Independence Day. There is also a period of speculation among party workers due to late in the selection of the new president. BJP’s ideological guide, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has allegedly advised organizational experience and a consensus on the candidate with a neutral attitude within the party. Sources also stated that the BJP has focused on four potential candidates, all of which have organizational experience.

Union ministers Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and senior BJP leader BD Sharma are being told at the forefront of this post as they fulfill the required qualifications for this post. The party is first calling for its Central Council meeting and preparing to form a consensus on either of the names under consideration. A senior source said on Thursday evening that now it seems almost certain that the name of the new national president of the party will be announced after August 15.
