New Delhi. BJP leader and former Union Minister Smriti Irani made several revelations about her acting and political career in Rajat Sharma’s show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. The show will air on India TV tonight at 10 pm.
When Rajat Sharma asked Smriti Irani what happened when she was shooting for a film with Rishi Kapoor in Shimla, she said: ‘I was in Shimla. Rishi was working in a film with Kapoor Saheb, when you got a call in the morning that you have to come to Delhi, take oath in the afternoon. So my last moment, which I had faced with the camera, was with the late Rishi Kapoor ji.
Rajat Sharma: Did Rishi Kapoor give you any advice?
Smriti Irani: ‘He said that do not blink the eyelids, do not even spend time. The rest of the people who were in Crew expressed happiness somewhere and also said that quickly tie the bag and go to Delhi because there is a big service from the national service and there is no such good fortune.
Rajat Sharma: Now such an opportunity will not come that you will come again and then be seen taking oath in Delhi from the set of “because …”?
Smriti Irani: ‘I don’t seek opportunities. Opportunities seek me, then I do not know which opportunity will find me. I know so much that when you come looking for me, you will not be unhappy nor shame. I will not get down from that benchmark with talent in politics and in the media today. I promise so much in your court.
On Big B, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha, when Rajat Sharma reminded Smriti Irani that mega star Amitabh Bachchan had left politics as’ SESPOL ‘(Nabdan), and Rajesh Khanna had also disappointed the politics, Smriti Irani replied:’ I did not come into politics. I am associated with national policy. Because if you come into politics, you seek something for yourself. If you join the national policy, then you find new heights, new achievements for the nation. This is the difference between doing for yourself and for others. Many people do for themselves. Very few people get to live for others, to have a sense of service towards others, such good fortune and opportunity. I believe that if you get this opportunity, then you should sacrifice all of you. The biggest achievement of my life is that I came as Smriti Irani in BJP and now became Didi.
Rajat Sharma: How was your experience working with Vinod Khanna?
Smriti Irani: ‘The kind of reverence he had in a very well-worthy actor, experienced, but also in politics, the way he had an inclination was a comfortable. There were very disciplined and no-nonsense individuals. So working with that person and surviving his no-nonsense attitude was considered to be a tamga in itself. Like Vinod Khanna ji, Hema ji also contributed. Even today, Hema ji has a contribution. Shatru Sir is now on the other side (in Trinamool), but he was one of the first awards of my life. I remember if an old clip comes out, then I am sitting in it as a judge and on whom I am judging or commenting, he is the Chief Minister of Punjab today.
Rajat Sharma: Bhagwant Maan… Shatru ji’s sense of humor is amazing?
Smriti Irani: ‘It is good to comment on that. But yes, they were all veterans. I also worked with Dutt Saheb. Even though he remained in the Congress, he was his own contribution. And I think you also about Amit ji, because everyone says that his mind became depressed. Their personality is such that if the swords are pulled, they want them to become a peace-maker. And we are from that generation that if the sword is pulled, it does not go into the sheath until the blood feels. So this is a difference of approach and experience. ‘
‘Because memory was ever thin’
When Rajat Sharma showed some old pictures of her modeling days to Smriti Irani and said that the pictures are really stunning, Smriti Irani replied: ‘There is no stunning, but….’
Rajat Sharma: Show the audience …..
Smriti Irani: ‘Because Smriti was also thin. These are pictures of Miss India. Today I do not think looking at me, but I have been Miss India Finalist.
The ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ show with Smriti Irani will be aired on India TV tonight at 10 pm. It will be broadcast again on Sunday at 10 am and 10 pm.
