The possibility of the deadlock in Parliament to end, the consent between the government and the opposition over the discussion on operation vermilion

The deadlock in Parliament is expected to end as the government on Friday agreed to make a special debate on India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ from Monday. It was agreed after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called a meeting of leaders of all parties to discuss the functioning of the House. Efforts were on to build consensus in the meeting. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge were also present in the meeting.

The opposition had demanded special discussion, not under Rule 193, because under Rule 193, discussion would mean that the government has proposed the proposal and has shown that it has celebrated the operation. According to sources, the leaders also discussed the voter list amendment in Bihar and the allegations against Allahabad High Court Judge Yashwant Verma and his impeachment. Sources also said that during the meeting, Rahul Gandhi also asked when the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in the election state Bihar will be discussed.

Earlier, today Kharge joined the protests of MPs of India Block against the ongoing special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar. This protest, which was held at the Makar Gate of Parliament for the fifth consecutive day. Several senior Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and party leader Priyanka Gandhi also participated in this protest. The MPs took out a march from the Gandhi statue located at the Parliament complex before the start of the day’s session and took several posters and a big banner, which was written, “Shree-democracy attack.”
