Tsunami hovering for 7.4 magnitude earthquake, Russia and HAWAII near Kamchatka

According to the US National Tsunami Warning Center, a tsunami warning has been issued for Russia and parts of Hawaii after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake of 7.4 magnitude on Sunday, 20 July 2025, Russia’s far -east coast. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km.
Initially the German Geology Research Center (GFZ) stated the intensity of this earthquake 6.7. However, the Later European Mediterranean Earthquake Science Center (EMSC) and the US Geological Survey (USGS) revised it to 7.4.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a total of five earthquakes have been recorded in the region, all of which were at the same depth of about 10 kilometers:
Intensity 6.6: Petropavalovsk-Kamachkski, 147 km from Russia.
Intensity 6.7: Petropavalovsk-Kampachkski, 151 km from Russia.
Intensity 7.4: Petropavalovsk-Kampachkski, 144 km from Russia.
Intensity 6.7: Petropavalovsk-Kamachkski, 130 km from Russia.
Intensity 7.0: Petropavalovsk-Kampachkski, 142 km from Russia.
Out of these, a tsunami warning has been issued only after an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude on 08:49 GMT. The USGS warned that within the radius of 300 km (186 mi) from the center of the earthquake, the ‘dangerous tsunami waves’ may occur near the city of Petropavavlovsk-Kamchatkski located in the Pacific Ocean. Officials are keeping a close watch on the situation and vigilance is being taken in the respective areas. So far, there is no news of any major damage or loss of life or property from the earthquake.
