At a significant point in the ongoing investigation of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, the State Special Campaign Cell (SSOC) of the Punjab Police, SAS Nagar arrested the Indian Army’s serving jawan Devinder Singh for allegedly helping him in leaking confidential military information. The arrest took place on 14 July (Monday) in Uri in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, ex -soldier Gurpreet Singh alias Guri or Fauji, who was arrested in the same case, also revealed.

ISI alleged for leaking confidential military documents
According to AIG Ravjot Kaur Grewal, IPS, Devinder Singh, a resident of Nihalgarh in Sangrur district, played a role in obtaining a confidential Indian Army document while Gurpreet was lodged in Ferozepur Jail. These documents are believed to include sensitive defense information and were reportedly sent to the ISI of Pakistan. Initial inquiry shows that Devinder and Gurpreet first met during military training in Pune in 2017 and he served together in various positions in Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir.

Police remand approved, further investigation continues
Devinder Singh was produced in a court in Mohali on 15 July, where he was taken on a six -day police remand for further questioning. The goal of the authorities is to gather complete information about his involvement, identify other members of the detective network and keep an eye on the flow of leaked information.
