Amidst all this, Rahul Gandhi has also targeted the government regarding law and order. Targeting Nitish Kumar, Rahul further wrote that CM is saving the chair, BJP minister is earning commission. I am repeating again – this time the vote is not just to change the government, but to save Bihar. The incidents of killing traders, politicians, lawyers, teachers and common citizens one after the other have created serious concerns about the law and order of Bihar. The police have blamed the comprehensive availability of illegal weapons and ammunition for these incidents.
In the last 10 days, the killings of several people including businessman Gopal Khemka, BJP leader Surendra Kumar, a 60 -year -old woman, a shopkeeper, a lawyer and a teacher have shocked Bihar before the election. According to the latest data from the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), 1,376 murder cases were registered in the state with an average of 229 murders every month between January and June, while in 2024 the number was 2,786 and 2,863 in 2023. According to senior police officials, illegal manufactured or untouched availability of firearms and uncontrolled availability of cartridges and ammunition has recently accelerated violent crimes.

According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Bihar has been involved in the top five states in the case of continuous violent offenses, including fire -related crimes. According to NCRB data, the state has finished second in violent crime rates in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2022. Director General of Police Vinay Kumar said, “Most of the murders are the main reasons for land dispute and property.” The role of the police is limited in such cases and it begins after the crime. Our force has achieved 100 percent rate in detecting the crime.
