Three people were killed and another was injured in a face-to-face collision of a motorcycle with a tractor laden with bricks near Rohata block in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. Police gave this information.
Taking cognizance of this incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the dead. He instructed the authorities to arrange for proper treatment of the injured person.
According to the police, the accident happened when three youths were riding on a motorcycle from Meerut towards Baraut and on the way his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trolley filled with bricks.
The tractor driver escaped from the spot after the accident. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Kumar Mishra said that the accident occurred near Rohta block at around seven in the morning. According to eyewitnesses, the high speed motorcycle suddenly slipped and collided with bricks-laden tractor-trolley.
The collision was so severe that the tractor-trolley also overturned. Police said the deceased have been identified as Shahzad (18), Arshad (19) and Rahisuddin alias Roasu (18) while the injured person has been identified as Rajneesh. Police have taken the bodies and sent it for postmortem. The matter is being investigated in detail.
