UP: prisoner absconding during treatment in hospital, three soldiers suspended

District Superintendent of Police Iraj Raja said on Saturday that Shivam Chauhan, arrested in the robbery incident in Jangipur police station area, was admitted to the surgical ward of the district hospital for treatment.

Shivam Chauhan alias Paramahans, a prisoner of a jail in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, escaped by dodging the police during treatment at the hospital on Friday night. Three soldiers have been suspended for negligence in this case.

District Superintendent of Police Iraj Raja said on Saturday that Shivam Chauhan, arrested in the robbery incident in Jangipur police station area, was admitted to the surgical ward of the district hospital for treatment.

Last night, he ran away from the toilet window. He said that soldiers Prabhu Nandan Paswan, Shiv Govind and Sonu Saroj have been suspended with immediate effect on charges of negligence in this case. Several teams of police have been formed to search for the absconding accused.
