The pilgrims left for Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal base camps in Ganderbal districts in two different convoys amidst the early security arrangements.
The 11th batch of 6,639 pilgrims left for the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Saturday to visit the Holy Amarnath Cave Temple located in South Kashmir Himalayan region. The officers provided this information.
Officials said that pilgrims, including 1,462 women, 41 children and 181 sadhus and sadhvis, left for two separate convoys for Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal base camps in the district. He said that 4,302 pilgrims are going towards Pahalgam base camp in a convoy of 159 vehicles, while 2,337 pilgrims are traveling by Baltal route in 116 vehicles.
