The Ministry of External Affairs had said that the Prime Minister’s visit shows India’s multidimensional and deep historical relations with Namibia. PM Modi said that India wants to increase bilateral cooperation with Namibia which is a valuable and reliable partner in Africa. PM Modi will address the Parliament of Namibia.

Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, India High Commissioner Rahul Srivastava said that India is considering importing uranium from African country and he said that the recent oil and gas discovery in Namibia is also an area of interest for New Delhi. Rahul Srivastava stressed that India’s leadership in Global South is acceptable and he described Africa as a strong partner of India. He said that India’s leadership in Global South is acceptable and Africa is a very strong partner of India. The Prime Minister is a strong supporter to support Global South and we have been supporting Namibia in this regard. Namibia attended the “Voice of Global South” summit organized by India during the G20 chaired by G20. Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to five countries and Namibia is his last stop. Prime Minister Modi started his visit to five countries from Ghana on Wednesday. From Ghana, Prime Minister Modi went to Trinidad and Tobago and then went to Argentina and Brazil.
