Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Namibia on Wednesday in the last phase of his visit to five countries where he will hold bilateral talks with Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Nadaitwa. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Namibia and the third visit of a Prime Minister from India.
The Ministry of External Affairs had issued a press release before Modi’s visit to five countries in Modi’s Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia stating that Modi is traveling to Namibia at the invitation of President Nandi-Nadaitwa.
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with President Nandi-Nadaitwa during his visit. Prime Minister Namibia founder Janak and first President late Dr. Sam Nujoma will also pay tribute. He is also expected to address the Parliament of Namibia. The Ministry of External Affairs had said that the Prime Minister’s visit shows India’s multidimensional and deep historical relations with Namibia.
