India and Russia have once again given a big message on the world’s diplomatic map. On the sidelines of the BRICS 2025 summit at Rio de Janeiro, S Jaishankar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov have made new equations. If sources are to be believed, it is being said that the meeting of S Jaishankar and Sergei Lavarov was not formal but strategic. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Brazil, besides the BRICS Summit. Jaishankar told in the post on X that he discussed bilateral cooperation, West Asia, BRICS and SCO.

Lavarov has represented Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS Summit. According to sources, Lavarov was to come to India around the second week of June. The purpose of that visit was to do ground work for President Putin’s proposed visit to India this year. On 27 March, Lavarov said that preparations for President Putin’s visit were going on. The possibility cannot be ruled out that this journey has been discussed. Although the meeting between Jaishankar and Lavarov is beyond the BRICS, but its results can be far -reaching.

Bilateral cooperation: India and Russia already have deep relations in strategic, military, technology, energy fields and the same meeting was further strengthened.

Russia wants to make RIC alive
It was Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov who expressed his desire to make the RIC framework alive. He had said that Russia wants India-Russian-China (RIC) Troika to be active. He has also been continuously targeting the West in this regard.
