Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif accused India of using the unfortunate terrorist attack in Pahalgam to destabilize regional peace without provoking and careless enmity. Speaking at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Azerbaijan, one of the countries supporting Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, Sharif again raised the Kashmir issue and condemned the barbaric acts against innocent people in the Union Territory. In this sequence, he also condemned the target of Gaza and innocent people in Iran, while attacking Israel.

The Resistance Front (TRF), associated with Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, took responsibility for the attack. India started Operation Sindoor a few days later, blaming Pakistan for sheltering terrorists, in which nine terrorist camps inside the country were destroyed.

This erupted extensive enmity as Pakistan started a wave of drone attacks, which India competed effectively. The conflict ended on May 10 when Pakistan contacted India for a ceasefire after mass attacks on its military bases.
