Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif accused India of using the unfortunate terrorist attack in Pahalgam to destabilize regional peace without provoking and careless enmity. Speaking at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Azerbaijan, one of the countries supporting Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, Sharif again raised the Kashmir issue and condemned the barbaric acts against innocent people in the Union Territory. In this sequence, he also condemned the target of Gaza and innocent people in Iran, while attacking Israel.

Shahhabad Sharif said that after an unfortunate incident in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan’s unprovoked and careless hostility towards Pakistan was another attempt to destabilize regional peace. On 22 April, 25 tourists and a local persons were killed in Pahalgam’s Basaron Valley – it was one of the most deadly terrorist attacks in Kashmir in recent years. The Resistance Front (TRF), associated with Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, took responsibility for the attack. India started Operation Sindoor a few days later, blaming Pakistan for sheltering terrorists, in which nine terrorist camps inside the country were destroyed.
