In a major action, 250 illegal Bangladeshi citizens were sent to Dhaka from Gujarat. This exile was done by special aircraft of the Indian Air Force amid tight security arrangements from Vadodara Air Force Station. Strict security measures were taken to safely execute the operation. All Bangladeshi citizens were tied with handcuffs to prevent any untoward incident. He was brought to the airport under police security in buses from various parts of the state.

Part of the ongoing action against illegal immigrants

This action is part of the major action against Bangladeshi immigrants living illegally in Gujarat. In the last two months, more than 1,200 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the state have been identified and have been deported. The state government is intensifying efforts to evacuate all unauthorized foreign nationals, in coordination with central security agencies.

Most illegal Bangladeshi Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot

The campaign has been the most active among the major urban centers including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot. These cities have seen a significant increase in the number of illegal migrants, due to which police and intelligence agencies have increased monitoring and verification. As part of the campaign, authorities are checking intensive documents to identify individuals living in India using fake identity cards. Many persons detained have found forged Aadhaar card, PAN card and other identification documents.
