In Mathura, the soldier caught red handed taking bribe from an e-rickshaw driver

In Mathura, an anti-corruption party arrested a soldier posted at Govind Nagar police station, taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from an e-rickshaw driver. A senior official gave this information on Friday.

The officer said that a case has been registered against the suspended soldier at Farah police station after this incident. Additional Superintendent of Police (City Area) Rajiv Kumar Singh said that Sanju Thakur, a resident of Govind Nagar, had complained to the anti-corruption party against the constable Shubham Chauhan, alleging that Chauhan was demanding 20 thousand rupees every month to run an e-rickshaw in Govind Nagar police station area.

He said that later he asked to allow the rickshaw to run a lump sum of 50 thousand rupees and threatened not to run the e-rickshaw if he did not do so. Singh said that on receiving the complaint, the anti-corruption team asked the e-rickshaw driver to give the note soldier and called him behind the police station on Thursday and handed him the notes.

He told that as soon as the accused caught the money in his hand, the members of the anti -corruption party hidden around caught him. The Additional Superintendent of Police said that the soldier was caught and brought to Farah police station and a case was filed against him.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said that after the arrest of constable Shubham Chauhan, he has been suspended with immediate effect and departmental inquiry has also been ordered.
