A fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir was strongly condemned on 22 April in a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Quawad countries in Washington. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar again clarified that after the military struggle in May, the consensus on the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was made by negotiations between the DGMOs of the two countries, not from any business talks, as the US President Donald Trump claimed. Donald Trump has several times claimed to use trade as a means of resolving the Indo-Pakistan struggle, which began after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April and increased on 7 May with India’s retaliation through ‘Operation Sindoor’. On the comment of US President Donald Trump on the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar spoke to the press at Washington DC, saying that what happened at that time was very clear and the ceasefire was something that had a conversation between the DGMOs of the two countries.

A joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of the Quad countries – Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Ivaya clearly condemned all types of terrorism and violent extremism including cross -border terrorism. The Quad called for conspiring for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, who carried out it into the dock of justice without any delay and appealed to the UN member countries to increase cooperation in this regard. The terrorist attack on 22 April strongly condemned the across the border and strongly supported the action against terrorism. 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam attack.

The joint statement said that we call for the criminals of this condemnable act, who have carried out it into the dock of justice without any delay and urge all the UN member countries to actively cooperate with all the concerned authorities in this regard as per their obligations under the relevant proposals of the International Law and UN Security Council. And the members of the Security Council emphasized the need to justify this condemnable act of terrorism and bring them to the dock of justice. Before Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also clarified in the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that India has given a befitting reply to this terrorist attack and in future also such an attack will be given a befitting reply. He said that India now not only tolerates but works on the policy of retaliation.
