Uncertainty about the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is becoming more clear. A recent report claimed that the continental tournament is likely to be held from the first week of September. After the death of 26 people in a heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, there was a big question mark on the fate of this year’s Asia Cup in view of the tension on the border between India and Pakistan. In response to the attack, India launched a military campaign targeting the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).

Now according to the Times of India.com, the Asia Cup is going to start from September 5 and will be held in the UAE, which will have the right to host the BCCI. 17 days have been given for the competition, which will include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and UAE. According to the initial program, the competition between India and Pakistan will take place on 7 September. According to the publication, all the teams are in the process of taking approval from their respective governments to participate in the tournament.

This year’s version will be played in the T20 format and the title match is expected on 21 September. Super Four will be held after the group phase, in which the top two teams of the second round will reach the finals. Earlier this year, in view of tension with Pakistan, a report claimed that India could be out of the tournament and the BCCI has allegedly informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) about its decision. However, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia denied these claims.
