India Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Ivaya and Australia Foreign Minister Penny Wong attended a quad foreign ministers’ meeting in the US State Department on Tuesday. During this, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong. In his inaugural speech during a bilateral meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said, “We will host the summit and we are ready to take today’s discussions as the results. It is always a good opportunity for us that we will sit and discuss our actions. Most of our discussions are getting better.। We are celebrating the 5th anniversary of our comprehensive strategic partnership. Recently, our Prime Ministers in Canada were pleased with the meeting, when I look at the relationships that are important and comfortable for us, they have reached the level where, if there is an issue, we can immediately contact each other.। We trust each other so much that we discuss issues related to the situation of the world, which tells what the quality of our relationship is।

In his initial speech during a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said, “I told you that with the quad I met you more than any other counterpart. We are strong and growing strategic and economic relations close partners। I was very happy to talk to you about our shared commitments for the region and some issues raised in the quad and how we can work together. In the last five years, the partnership between the two countries has strengthened। We are particularly pleased with close ties, moving ahead between our two Prime Ministers.।“
