Jaspreet Bumrah has been given a rest. Akashdeep has been included in the team in place of Jaspreet Bumrah. However, former team coach Ravi Shastri is surprised by the absence of Bumrah. He said that captain Shubman Gill and coach Gautam Gambhir should have ensured that Bumrah should play in the second Test, as there was a difference of about a week between the two matches.
On Wednesday, India made three changes in the second Test match against England. Shardul Thakur, Sai Sudarshan is excluded from the playing XI, while Jaspreet Bumrah has been given a rest. Akashdeep has been included in the team in place of Jaspreet Bumrah. However, former team coach Ravi Shastri is surprised by the absence of Bumrah. Bumrah was rested in the second Test match which started on Wednesday due to the charge management. He played in the first Test match in Leeds in which India lost by five wickets. All -rounders Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar were included in the playing XI. Sai Sudarshan and Shardul Thakur have not been selected in the team.
