Ban on social media lifted from Pakistani artists? Mawra Hocane’s Instagram started appearing in India after two months

In April 2025, there was a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists lost their lives. After this, India launched a strong military retaliation “Operation Sindoor” against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan (Pakistan occupied Kashmir). Along with this, India took a big step online- blocked the social media account of Pakistani actors.

The Government of India and the entertainment industry groups supported the ban. He felt that it is not right for actors who speak against India to continue to receive fans and income from Indian audience. During this time some film projects and brand deals with Pakistani actors were also canceled.

Now the ban is slowly lifting

As the situation is calming down, some Pakistani accounts in India are now being restored. Actors like Yumna Zaidi, Ahad Raza Mir and Danish Taimur are once again seen on Instagram for Indian users. The fans are happy with this- but it is not over yet. Haniya Aamir, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan are still blocks in India and their fans are waiting for them.

However, many other stars including Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan continue to ban on Instagram account. The profile of these stars is still not visible to Indian users.
