Shami’s wife living separately, instructions to give four lakh rupees monthly alimony to daughter

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed cricketer Mohammad Shami to give a living allowance of four lakh rupees every month during a legal battle to his separate wife Haseen Jahan and daughter.

Jahan had moved the High Court against the order of the district session court, directing the cricketer to pay Rs 50,000 to his wife in 2023 and Rs 80,000 to his daughter.

Justice Ajay Kumar Mukherjee said in the order, “I think, giving the petitioner number 1 (wife) to Rs 1,50,000 per month and an amount of Rs 2,50,000 to his daughter will be appropriate and rational to ensure the financial stability of both the petitioners.”

The order stated, however, in relation to the petitioner’s relationship with the girl’s girl, the spousing number 2 will always be allowed to help voluntarily assist her education and/or other appropriate expenses in addition to the above amount.
