More than 150 people died in Myanmar and Thailand due to a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar. 2. Central employees’ dearness allowance increased by 2%; This will benefit 50 lakh people
The government has increased dearness allowance (DA) for central employees and 2% in inflation relief (DR) for pensioners. Now dearness allowance will increase from 53% to 55%. It will benefit about 48 lakh central employees and 66 lakh pensioners. The increase will be applicable from 1 January 2025. Earlier in July 2024, the government increased DA 3%.
