Gaza’s Civil Protection Agency said that the Israeli army killed at least 23 people in Gaza on Saturday, including at least three children, who were killed in a home attack. Civil Defense Spokesperson Mahmood Basal told AFP that at least 23 people were killed and dozens of injured were taken (to hospitals) after Israeli firing and raids in Gaza. The casualties also include three children, who were killed in an air attack on a house in Jabalia in North Gaza. In AFP video footage from Gaza City, relatives were shown crying on the bodies of children killed in a nearby Jabalia.

Basal said the children were among the 21 people killed in six airstrikes in the area by drones and aircraft. He said that two other people were killed in Israeli firing while waiting for food assistance in Netzarim area of Madhya Gaza. The Israeli army did not immediately respond to the remarks request. The guardian is unable to independently verify tolls and details given by rescue teams and witnesses.

According to health officials, more than 20 bodies were taken to Nasir Hospital. An official aware of the situation told the news agency Associated Press that Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermar Gaza would arrive at Washington next week for talks on the ceasefire, Iran and other subjects.
