The Oscar eagerly awaited by film fans around the world is considered the highest honor of the film industry. According to News18, the Oscar administration has directly invited Kamal Haasan, a philosopher and versatility actor of Indian cinema, to be a part of the voting committee selecting films for the award. This is considered to be a very pleasant milestone of his film career.

Apart from this, actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana and ‘All V Imagine Aiz Light’ writer-director Payal Kapadia are among the 534 artists who have been invited to the US ‘Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ (Oscar Academy) this year. This year’s list includes many influential names from various genres of Hollywood and international cinema, including many Indian artists.
Apart from Hassan, Khurana and Kapadia, the list also features Karan Mali, Casting Director of the film ‘Gully Boy’, ‘All We Imagine Aiz Light’ cinematory Ranbir Das and costume designer Maxima Basu. The Academy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bill Cramer and Chairman Janet Yang said, “We are very excited by inviting these prestigious artists, technical experts and professionals to the academy.He has contributed significantly to the film production and global cinema community. ‘

In the invited category of 2025, 41 percent of women, 45 percent of representative communities and 55 percent of people are from 60 countries and regions outside the US. These include 91 Oscar nominated, 26 winners and three scientific and technical award winners. Other major names include Gilian Anderson, Jodi Qamar, Emma Corin, Karen Kalkin, Margaret Quali, Andrew Scott and Jermi Strong.
Indian -origin Canadian producer Raj Kapoor, Ravi Ahuja in the executive category, composer Siddharth Khosla, composer Amrita Waz, Chaitanya Chinchlikar, Momita Sengupta, documentary filmmaker Smriti Mundra and VFX experts Ravi Bansal and Abhishek Nair are also in the list.
The director category also invites names like Korali Fargate, Mike Flanagan and Miguel Gomes. The membership of the academy is given only through enrollment for 19 branches and a category. The candidate is required to be nominated by two members of the same category.
