Export to Moradabad, known as Brass Nagari, will be developed as ‘hub’: Jitin Prasad

Union Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasad said on Wednesday that the export ‘hub’ will be developed to Moradabad, known as Brass Nagari.

Prasad emphasized the system of improving the basic facilities including railways, roads and other basic facilities in the meeting with officials at Moradabad Circuit House and resolving the administrative and technical needs of exporters under the One Stop Center at one place.

Expressing concern over exports this year compared to last year, Prasad said that problems will be identified and resolved for this. Regarding the problems caused by Goods and Services Tax (GST), he said that the matter will be raised in the upcoming GST Council meeting so that permanent solution can be found.

Regarding pollution control and municipal problems related problems, the Union Minister directed to appoint District Magistrate Anuj Singh as Nodal Officer. The Union Minister said in the press conference that the business has increased but the economic situation of the artisans has not improved, due to which their number is continuously decreasing.

He said that the Joint Industries Commissioner has been instructed to take effective steps regarding making artisan villages under the ‘one district one product’ (ODOP) to encourage artisans with exporters. Moradabad has an important place in the world in craftsmanship related to brass and other metals.

He said that the BJP’s double engine government in the Center and Uttar Pradesh is jointly committed to increasing the income of exporters in view of providing employment opportunities to the needy and globally fluctuations.
