Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh spoke openly about the ongoing controversy over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film ‘Sardar Ji 3’. In an interview to the BBC Asian Network recently, the actor revealed that the film was shot in February, which was long before the barbaric Pahalgam attack and the conflict between India and Pakistan.He also expressed his support to the producers to release the film abroad. In the interview, he further said that many things happened beyond his control and now, the situation is not in his hand.He explained “After that, a lot of big things are not in our hands. So the producers have decided that the film will not be released in India now, so it is released abroad. So the producers have a lot of money and when this film was being made, there was nothing like that. The film will not be released in India, so they can release it abroad, they have invested a lot of money, they have noticed a lot, and when there was no such thing.

Manufacturers released a statement
The film’s makers released a statement on Tuesday, defending their decision to cast Hania, stating that they were signed before the tension between India and Pakistan increased. Seeing the current atmosphere, he cited the film the reason for not being released in India.
The statement posted on the social media handle said, “It is to be brought to everyone’s attention that the film named Sardarji 3 was shot long before the current situation in our country and it never happened that a Pakistani artist was signed or worked after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.”

The note further states, “We are united with our country and our fellow countrymen in this sensitive time. Keeping this in mind, we have decided not to release the film or any of its promotional materials in India until the situation is favorable.”
The note received a mixed response in the comment section, in which some social media users praised the filmmakers for not releasing the film, while others criticized Hania for not editing the role.
Sardar G3 in trouble
At the moment, the entire team of Diljit’s Sardar G3’s entire team is facing strong criticism due to the inclusion of Hania Aamir in the film. The film starring Neeru Bajwa is not releasing in India. It is scheduled to release abroad on 27 June. The dispute came out after a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, after which India conducted Operation Sindoor on 7 May, in which airstrikes were carried out on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir. Due to increasing stress, the demand for boycott of Pakistani artists started again and after that the release of Fawad Khan and Vani Kapoor’s film Abir Gulal was stopped. Social media accounts of many Pakistani artists including Hania Aamir were closed in India.
