The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the retirement age of match officials and associate members by five years. The decision was taken by the BCCI at its annual general meeting. The BCCI said in a statement after its 90th AGM that the age limit for match officials and associate members has been raised from 60 years to 65 years.
However, it depends on their fitness. This decision of the board will benefit the officials like umpire, match scorer, match referee. An official of the board said, “Now we have guidelines. He will now have another five years to retire.
