A few days after the death of more than 270 people in the Air India aircraft accident, the death of Gujarati filmmaker Mahesh Jirawala has been officially confirmed through DNA analysis. The 34 -year -old director, who was stated to be missing by his family after the June 12 accident, was one of the passengers whose remains were badly burnt in the debris.

The Air India aircraft going from Ahmedabad to London crashed after colliding with a medical hostel in Shahibagh on 12 June. Initially, Mahesh’s family was unable to accept his death even after the DNA match was positive.
According to several Gujarati media portals, the burnt Activa scooter of Mahesh Jeerawala has been recovered from the accident site after the Air India aircraft accident on 12 June, causing suspicion that he collided with him. His mobile phone was last tracked at the accident site, where it was found in switch-off mode. These clues suggest that he can be one of the victims. However, the results of the DNA test later confirmed his identity. Mahesh Jeerawala’s family was not initially ready to accept the dead body, as he was not ready to believe his death. However, when the police presented strong evidence including Activa’s chassis number and DNA report, the family broke up and reluctantly accepted that Mahesh was no longer.
Who was Mahesh Jirawala?
Let us tell you that Mahesh was a resident of Naroda and was known for the direction of AIDS as well as music videos. He was also the CEO of the production house Mahesh Jirawala Productions. He did many music videos in Gujarati language. In 2019, he also released a directed film. He is survived by a daughter and a son and his wife Hetal. According to official data, a total of 231 DNA matches have been held so far in the Ahmedabad accident and 210 bodies have been handed over to families. The victims included 155 Indians, 36 British citizens, seven Portuguese citizens, one Canadian and nine local citizens.
