The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday described the raid of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the alleged class construction scam as a frustrated attempt to divert public attention and said that the allegations against party leaders were motivated by politics.
Official sources said that the Enforcement Directorate raided several complexes in the national capital on Wednesday as part of the money laundering investigation of the alleged class construction scam of Rs 2,000 crore during the previous AAP government of the capital.
The ED conducted this raid after registering a criminal case under the Recently, taking cognizance of the FIR lodged by the Delhi Prevention of Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with the said allegations.
Sources said that ED officials have raided the contractors associated with the case and at least 37 campuses of private institutions. Reacting to the raids, the AAP in a statement accused the BJP of continuously demolishing the slums and destroying the livelihood of the poor and marginalized people across Delhi.
The statement said, this so -called raid is nothing but a frustrated attempt to divert public attention from reality. The allegations are baseless, inspired by politics and are leveled only to divert attention from BJP’s anti -people functions.
