The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a notice in the case of banning the release of Kamal Haasan’s Tamil film Thug Life in Karnataka, criticizing groups that threatened to ban the film’s release on the release of controversial comments allegedly made by the actor. The court said that the rule of the law could not be held hostage in front of the crowd threats and warned that “groups of goons” could not be allowed to decide what to show in theaters.

The film Thug Life was stopped in Karnataka
Kamal Haasan’s recent release film Thug Life was stopped in Karnataka, as the actor made a controversial statement that ‘Kannada has come from Tamil’, causing chaos in the state. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film was released in theaters in every state on June 5, but Kamal Haasan refused to apologize for his statement and postpon the release of his film. He later knocked on the door of the Karnataka High Court for the release of his film in the state. Now, after saying and doing a lot, the Supreme Court on Wednesday gave the green signal to release the thug life in Kannada.

Supreme Court cleared the way for the release of thug life in Karnataka
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court requested the state government to present its rebuttal till date. The bench said that it would order to send the case to the Supreme Court, as the state lawyer has claimed that the film’s producer has already filed a petition in the High Court. Now on Wednesday, the Supreme Court cleared the way for the release of thug life in Karnataka.
Bengaluru police applied notice
The Bangalore Police has put a notice at the house of the leader of the Kannada organization, who warned of protests on the release of the film. The notice states that the place specified in the case of any protest or dharna is Freedom Park. If this is done at another place, strict action will be taken. The police has pasted a notice at the house of Praveen Shetty, leader of the pro -Kannada organization.
