On Tuesday, June 17, the Supreme Court expressed its disagreement over the judicial ban imposed on the Tamil film Thug Life in Karnataka. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Manmohan’s benches were hearing on Tuesday on a PIL filed by a person named Mahesh Reddy. The PIL sought permission to display the thug life, which was not released in Karnataka as the groups threatened to stop the screening. The same chief actor and one of the film’s producers was made due to Kamal Haasan’s statement of ‘Kannada Tamil’ of Kamal Haasan.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the Karnataka government for not being released in the state by the Supreme Court, saying that the so -called guards of crowd and morality cannot be allowed to create a ruckus on the streets. A bench of Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan and Justice Manmohan said that the rule of law should be established and a gun cannot be stretched on their heads to prevent people from watching the film.

The apex court gave the Karnataka government a day to give information about the release of the film in the state and said that once the film gets approval from the Central Film Certification Board, it should be released in all states. The bench said that if Kamal Haasan has said anything inconvenient, he cannot be considered as untrue truth and the enlightened people of Karnataka should have argued and said that he was wrong. The apex court also criticized the recent comments of the High Court for apologizing on Kamal Haasan’s comment on Kannada and said that it was not his job to apologize.
The bench transferred the case related to the film pending in the High Court to the apex court and the next hearing of the case was fixed on Thursday. ‘Thug Life’ was released in theaters across the country on June 5. After the 1987 ‘Nayakan’, the Tamil film ‘Thug Life’, a pair of Haasan and filmmaker Mani Ratnam, could not be released in Karnataka, as 70 -year -old Haasan made a comment about Kannada, which raised a big controversy.
The apex court was hearing the petition of M Mahesh Reddy, who challenged the film’s non -release in Karnataka. The High Court had strongly criticized Haasan’s remarks that “Kannada originated from Tamil.” The High Court also said that “once the situation could have resolved the situation by apologizing.” This comment allegedly made by Kamal Haasan in his film’s promotional program in Chennai, after which Hasnaka was announced in Karnataka, after which Karnataka Film of Commerce (KFCCC) announced that Karnataka Film of Commerce (KFCCC). The film will not be released in the state until you do not apologize.
