On Thursday, 241 people aboard the life of an Air India plane in Ahmedabad lost their lives. The aircraft has remained a topic of discussion worldwide since the crashed as it is the first time that the crashed of the best -selling big -sized Dreamliner (Boeing 787) killed people and the aircraft structure itself was also destroyed. Let us tell you that Boeing’s Dreamliner aircraft, considered useful for long distance flights, took off 14 years ago and currently more than 1,100 such aircraft are being operated.
According to the aircraft Analysis Syrium, the crashed Boeing 787-8 aircraft- VT-ANB- was 11.5 years old and had flew over 41,000 hours. The company said that Boeing 787 has 1,148 airlines worldwide, whose average age is 7.5 years. Syrium said the crashed aircraft took its first flight on 14 December 2013. The aircraft was handed over to Air India on 28 January 2014 and was 11.5 years old. Syrium said, “The aircraft had 18 business class seats and 238 economy class seats. It had flew for more than 41,000 hours and flew and landing about 8,000 times. The aircraft had flew 700 times in the last 12 months. The aircraft had so much flight average according to the year and age of the aircraft.”

According to Serium, Air India, which is expanding its fleet and foreign networks, has ordered 20 additional B787 aircraft and also sent a letter of intent to replace 24 additional aircraft. In addition, IndiGo has recently started operating B787 on lease from Norway’s Airline Norse Atlantic. IndiGo is going to lease a total of six such aircraft for long distance operations. Let us tell you that currently Air India and IndiGo are two Indian airlines which are operating this B787 aircraft. The Air India fleet consists of 27 B787-8 out of 34B787.
Let us also tell you that a few years ago, the US Aviation Regulatory Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had stopped the supply of Dreamliner aircraft due to some issues, but no one was killed by the crash of the aircraft until on Thursday. As far as India is concerned, Air India had trouble due to battery problem in Dreamliners in 2013. Due to the problem of battery, the then government -owned Air India also had to stop its Dreamliner fleet for some time. At that time there were six such aircraft near the airline. In addition, the airline also received compensation from Boeing for these issues.
Let us tell you that according to Boeing, which faces many challenges in recent years, B787 is the best -selling big -sized passenger aircraft ever. Dreamliner comes in three models-787-8, 787–9 and 787–10. Of these, the range of 787-8 is up to 13,530 km. According to Boeing’s website, the length of the aircraft is 57 meters, height 17 meters and the wing is 60 meters. According to the website, the Dreamliner fleet has traveled over one billion passengers in less than 14 years, which is faster than any other aircraft of this type in aviation history. The website states, “Its mild and strong structure saves up to 25 percent fuel compared to other aircraft.” However, due to the crash of Dreamliner, Boeing has come under the target of everyone worldwide.
