Lamanunthem Singson (26), one of the two crew members of Manipur, who was killed in an Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad, was the only earning member of her family. He told that Singson had told his mother that she had to fly to London on Thursday and hence wants to sleep early at night. Singson’s brother Lun Kipgen in the relationship said that the third child of four siblings, the Singson family, was “the only daughter and her widowed mother had struggled a lot to raise them all”.

Kipgen said, “The 26 -year -old Singson was the only earning member of the family. His eldest brother is unemployed and suffering from a serious illness, while two other brothers are studying.” He said that despite being unwell, his eldest brother has left for Ahmedabad, while another brother and another relative has gone to Dimapur in Nagaland from Kangpokpi and will go to Ahmedabad from there. Kipgen said, “We are shocked by this news. Her mother is in deep shock and she has not eaten anything since the news of the accident came out.”

He claimed that Air India officials called Singson’s family late on Thursday night and said that his body had not yet been identified. Singson was among the 242 people who were riding in AI 171 of Air India, who crashed only a few minutes after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. He said, “Singason spoke to her mother for the last time at around 11 pm on Wednesday night. She said that she would fly to London the next day and wanted to sleep as soon as possible, as she had to arrive on duty early on Thursday.

Singson and her mother prayed regularly over the phone. He used to pray jointly on the phone regularly before bedtime. ” His relative said that Singson was from the Cookie family, whose members had to leave their homes during ethnic violence in the northeastern state. “His family members, including three brothers, had left their homes in Imphal during ethnic conflict and are now living in a rented house in Kangpokpi district.
