The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided several locations associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organization in Punjab and Haryana. The NIA said in a statement that in January 2025, a total of 15 places were raided in Punjab’s Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Rupnagar districts and a total of 15 places in Sirsa in connection with the grenade attack on a police post in Amritsar district of Punjab.

According to the statement, searches were conducted at a total of 15 places including Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Rupnagar districts and Sirsa in Haryana in connection with the grenade attack at a police post in Amritsar district of Punjab. It said that during the search, several objectionable materials including mobile/digital equipment and documents were seized and they are being investigated for detailed clues about BKI terrorist network.

The NIA said, “BKI has been involved in a criminal conspiracy to recruit and train its associates in India and provide funds, weapons and explosives to the regional workers of terrorist organization through its colleagues and acquaintances abroad including Pakistan. The purpose of this conspiracy is to carry out terrorist incidents on Indian earth.
