Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of killing her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during a honeymoon in Meghalaya, has been sent to eight days police custody. The district and sessions court of Shillong have also sent four associates of Sonam to eight days police custody. SP Vivek Sim of East Khasi Hills district said that the police had sought a 10 -day remand of all the accused. The court approved 8 days police custody.

Transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, a resident of Indore, came to Meghalaya for a honeymoon with wife Sonam (24) and during this time the incident was carried out. Sonam was arrested from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, while her associates were arrested from Indore in Madhya Pradesh for alleged role in conspiring to kill King Raghuvanshi. The official said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had requested police custody of the accused to add links of the incident at the crime site in Sohra and repeat the scene of the crime. Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam went missing on May 23 in the Sohra area of Meghalaya while celebrating a honeymoon. The king’s body was found in a ravine on June 2.
