Central Railway should install automatic doors in local trains: Sharad Pawar

NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar fell from the local train and called the death of passengers unfortunate and appealed to the Central Railway Administration on Monday to implement measures like installing automatic doors in local trains in view of the congestion.

At least four passengers died and six passengers were injured in Thane district of Maharashtra on Monday morning. The accident occurred between Diva and Kopar railway stations when the train filled with passengers was going to Kasara.

The incident was probably due to the crowded passengers hanging from the notch of two congested trains and their bags hitting each other as trains were passing through opposite directions. Pawar wrote in a post on ‘X’, “The Central Railway should build a time well and accordingly increase the number of local trains on important routes. The necessary measures for the safety of passengers should be implemented immediately. To prevent such accidents, the decision to install automatic doors in local trains is expected to be implemented on time.

He said, “Some passengers are undergoing treatment in the hospital. I pray that their health should improve soon. ”The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that on an average of six to seven passengers fall from local trains on an average of the central railway network.

Pawar said, “It is well known that the increasing crowd in local trains is the main reason for this. It is not right to blame passengers for their death after such accidents. The Central Railway Administration should take this unfortunate incident seriously.
