The wife was arrested in an attempt to kill her husband in a domestic dispute in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. The police gave this information on Sunday. According to the police, Sumaiya, who lives in Manihara locality of Kotwali police station area, tried to kill her husband Khurshid by strangling her while sleeping on Saturday night.
Kotwali police station in -charge Inspector (SHO) Virendra Kasana told reporters here that the injured Khurshid was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the police registered a case and arrested Sumaiya.
The official said that a sharp weapon used in the incident has also been recovered from the accused. According to the police, Sumaiya was married to Khurshid eight years ago but later a dispute between husband and wife started.
Police said Sumaiya tried to kill him by attacking Khurshid sleeping in the house with a sharp weapon. The officer said that the investigation of the case is going on.
