Gujarat High Court threatened to blow up via email, search operation continues amid stirring

The Gujarat High Court stopped functioning after lunch on 9 June. The court registry was allegedly threatened with an anonymous bomb through email. A notice issued by the Registrar General states that due to unavoidable circumstances, it has been decided to stop the functioning of the courts after 1.45 pm. The notice said that the courts are requested to tell the lawyers that they are not working after lunch and at the same time everyone will have to leave the campus as soon as possible, as there is a need for a security check of the entire court premises.

After the threat, security has been increased, the court doors have been sealed and the bomb disposal squad as well as dog squads and police officers have been deployed in the High Court premises. The bomb threatened, after which the law enforcement officials immediately took action. According to the information, the police teams reached the court premises and conducted a thorough search. According to news agency ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Police Safin Hasan is monitoring the situation, while officials are working to detect the source of threatening emails.
