Who is Priya Saroj?
Saroj is a 26 -year -old politician and lawyer and is currently an MP from Machilishahar constituency. Priya, a three -time MP and daughter of current MLA Tufani Saroj from Kerakat, was first elected representing the Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav in the general elections of 2024. Born in Varanasi on 23 November 1998, Priya completed her schooling from the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Delhi University and Law Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Amity University, Noida.
After graduation, he practiced in the Supreme Court of India. According to media reports, Priya entered politics despite her initial desire to become a judge. In the 2024 elections, he contested from Machilishahar, who was earlier his father’s seat, and BJP’s BP Saroj won by a margin of 35,850 votes. During his campaign, she focused on issues such as youth employment and women empowerment.
